![]() Amsterdam Manor and Paradise Beach Villas are on either side of La Cabana and are good alternatives. Personally, I would stay in a smaller resort. I’ve stayed there several times and sometimes found their customer service lacking, but maybe things are better now. In addition to our two world-class casinos Wind Creek Crystal and Wind Creek Seaport and hundreds of slot machines and table games, we have our own private island where flamingos roam free. Our Aruba property offers something truly unique. La Cabana is the largest of the low rise resorts with about 800 units. Wind Creek Aruba is nestled in the lively downtown scene of Oranjestad. Most (if not all) of the low rise resorts have kitchens. Palm Beach has more activity nearby but it’s also much more crowded. Personally, I prefer Eagle Beach for its beauty - plus it’s much easier to get a palapa. Restaurants - I would say read some restaurant reviews and go to the ones that interest you the most. If not, then stay in Palm Beach if you want to make a change. If you have a car, you can stay on Eagle Beach and drive up to Palm Beach for nightlife. There’s not as much activity in downtown Oranjestad as there used to be, and the entire young adult population seems to hangout at the Momba Beach Bar (on Palm Beach) at night (just my observation based on my own young adults). The first day, you often can’t get into your room until 4 pm and the last day, you have to be out by 11 am plus you have to allow lots of time to get through the airport. I agree with the point that you really don’t want to change hotels during your trip considering you are there for a short time.
